Ty Bowman • Bio

Ty Bowman with video Ty Bowman is a photographer, interactive video artist, sculptor and printmaker living in Los Angeles, California. His interactive video applications are produced with photographs, digital prints, serigraphs and software and hardware he develops himself. He served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Grand Canyon National Park in September, 2014. His photographs from that body of work, sometimes labeled as “experimental”, can be described as intentional abstractions of the natural beauty of the canyon. Works from the Grand Canyon came out of his foreign travels and earlier work with nudes using the same technique. From 1991 to 1996 Bowman exhibited large scale outdoor sculpture at La Quinta Sculpture Park in California and the College of Santa Fe in 1991. Bowman first came to Taos in the summer of 1981 on a fellowship from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico. During that summer he produced large format black and white pinhole photographs of Northern New Mexico landscapes.
